This page explains what FlockFit collects when you visit flockfit.com, what happens to it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

The short version

FlockFit has no accounts, and it does not sell, rent or share your personal information. It counts visits so we know which cities and studios people are actually looking for, and it takes messages through a contact form. That is the whole of it.

What is collected

Automatically, on every visit, in the way that almost every website does:

And only if you choose to send it: your name, your email address and whatever you write in the contact form.

There is nothing else. No account to create, no profile built about you, and no list you end up on without asking.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. FlockFit sets none of its own. Google Analytics sets two, so that a visitor who reads three pages is counted as one visit rather than three. They hold a randomly generated ID and nothing about who you are.

Your browser settings can block or clear them at any time, and the directory works exactly the same either way.

IP addresses

Your IP address is collected automatically by the web server, because a server cannot send a page back without knowing where to send it. It is also what makes it possible to block abuse and to work out roughly which part of the country a visit came from.

It is not used to identify you personally, and it is not sold or shared.

Analytics

FlockFit uses Google Analytics. It records which pages are viewed, roughly where in the country the visit came from, the device and browser type, and whether a visitor clicked through to a studio's own website or asked for directions. It tells us a studio page is doing its job. It does not tell us who you are.

No name, email address or exact location goes into it. If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes abrowser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics (opens in a new tab)on every site you visit, and blocking cookies has the same effect here.

The contact form

What you type into the contact form is emailed to us and nothing more. We use your address to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list, and it is never passed to anyone else.

The message is delivered by Brevo, an email service, which handles it only to get it to our inbox. The form is also protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible spam check that looks at browser and device signals to tell a person from a bot. It does not read your message and it does not identify you.

Email is not a fully secure medium, so please do not send anything sensitive through the form or by email.

How your information is used

It is used to run the site and to answer you. Specifically:

It is not used for anything else. Your information is not sold, rented or shared with anyone unrelated to running the site, except where the law requires it.

Maps

Map images come from CARTO. When a map loads, your browser asks CARTO for those images directly, so CARTO sees your IP address the same way any website you visit does. FlockFit sends them nothing about you, and the map sets no cookies.

Every place shown on a map is also written out as text on the same page, so nothing is only available by loading the map.

Links to studio websites

Links to studios are tagged so the studio can see that a visitor came from FlockFit. The tag identifies this site, not you, and carries nothing about who you are or what you looked at.

Simply reading a studio page sends that studio nothing. That only happens if you click through. Once you do, the studio's own site applies its own privacy practices, which FlockFit does not control.

How your information is protected

The site is served over an encrypted connection, so anything you send through it travels encrypted. Access to the inbox that receives contact messages is limited to the people who answer them, and messages are kept only for as long as it takes to deal with them.

No site can promise perfect security, and this one will not pretend otherwise. What it can promise is that there is very little here to lose, by design.

Children

FlockFit is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through the form, contact us and it will be deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice, unless you have emailed us or used the contact form, we hold nothing about you that could identify you.

Either way, ask and you will get a straight answer.Contact us and we will act on it.

Studio information

Listings describe businesses, not people. Where a studio is run by a named individual, only business contact details already published by that business appear here. A studio can ask for its listing to be corrected or removed at any time. Contact us.

Changes

This page may be updated. The date at the top is the last revision, and anything that collects more than the above will be described here before it starts. Information already collected will not be used in a way this page did not allow at the time.
